iNNOV8 Bridges Research And Academic Life at Sulaimani Polytechnic University

On April 30, 2026, iNNOV8 Research Center held a seminar at Sulaimani Polytechnic University. Director of iNNOV8 Imad Farhadi and Research Specialists Noor Omer and Shan Mohammed visited the Media Techniques Department, where they led an engaging session with third-year students as part of the university's Media Research Methodology course.

The session explored why research matters not just for academia but for society at large. From freedom of expression and human rights to climate change and economic policy, the team demonstrated how rigorous scientific research shapes the conversations that affect people's daily lives. Students also got a practical look at how research is conducted, from data collection and analysis to the strategic communication of findings to the public.

A candid discussion on the gaps in how academic research is marketed and communicated rounded out the session, giving students a realistic picture of the challenges researchers face beyond the lab and the library.

The visit concluded on a forward-looking note, with both sides discussing internship opportunities for students during their summer training, a step toward bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world research practice.

At iNNOV8, we believe that research only fulfills its purpose when it reaches people. Partnerships like this one with SPU are how we make that happen.
